The lightweight R8000B is the world's only portable, full-featured radio test set offering performance and flexibility superior to test instruments costing tens of thousands of dollars more and weighing three times as much.

Demonstrations of a new Firmware Release (#1.17.0) will highlight the test set's enhanced capabilities The Firmware release 1.17.0, contains the following new features and enhancements:

  • AutoTune for Kenwood "NX" Series radios
  • Addition of XTS1500 support to the XTS2500/XTS5000 AutoTune test option
  • dPMR protocol test capability
  • Significant improvements to the dynamic range and update rate of the tracking generator

The R8000B product demonstrations will be held in Room 110 on the show floor during show hours on Wednesday and Thursday , March 26th and 27th.

Ed Mick, Sales Manager for General Dynamics' Longview, Texas facility, said, "The second-generation R8000B boasts the industry's best spectral purity and test capability for every major LMR test protocol. The R8000B weighs just 14 pounds and offers more than 20 individual test instruments. There is quite simply no comparable test solution to the R8000B for LMR testing needs."

"In addition, as the R8000B's new firmware release demonstrates, the capabilities of the R8000B continue to expand over time as new features are added because all firmware upgrades are free for the life of the unit," Mick said.
